I n July 2020, PolyOne Corporation, which manufactures Wilflex and Rutland screen printing inks, completed its purchase of Clariant Masterbatch and changed its name to Avient. To celebrate, the Avient Corporation Speciality Inks division asked its longtime collaborator Milosj de Groot to print the Avient logo. Milosj, aka Mad Specials, is a screen printer from The Netherlands who is well-known for his skill in creating high-build prints. In this step-by-step, he shows how to use varying mesh counts and stencil thickness to achieve a print that – in all senses – stands out. The purpose of the guide is to introduce basic high-build printing techniques and encourage printers to try it and have some fun along the way, says Avient.
